What is Fun in the Sun Mud Run?

A 5K (3.2 miles) that will involve a muddy obstacle course with running and climbing, a Kids' Muddy Fun Run course, a Vendor Village and the evening Afterparty.

When is the event?

The Fun in the Sun Mud Run will take place on Saturday March 3, 2018.

Where is the event taking place?

All daytime activities will take place at HG Harders Park, Panama City, Florida (see more info to the right). The Afterparty will take place at House of Bourbon, 1201 Beck Ave. Panama City, Florida 32401.

Why should I support this event?

To have some muddy fun while rasing money for some incredible local charities.

Are there awards?

There will be medals presented and some other accolades, too.

How much will parking cost?

Parking is free for the public and participants.

Besides registration what else do I need to pay?

We have a secure area for storing your bags while you participate for a $5 donation. We will have a vendor village that may have something for you to purchase. And we will have a food vendor with some tasty goods for sale (with a portion going to our charities).

What time does the event start?

The Fun in the Sun Mud Run will start at 7:00 am with staggered heats (your determined start time will be assigned at registration).

When should I arrive to the event?

The activites will kick off at 7:00 am and you will need to allow time to park, check in and get settled in. Ideally, you will want to arrive 30-45 minutes before the start (if you have registered online). If you need to register, you should arrive between 6:00 and 6:30 am.

Where can I register online?

Where can I register in person?

We will offer pre-registration on Friday March 2, from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at Fairfield Inn and Suites Panama City Beach (7718 Front Beach Road, Panama City Beach, Florida 32407), and at the event location HG Harders Park (7900 John Pitts Rd, Panama City, FL 32404) on the same day of event starting at 6:00 am.

Where can I pick up my event packet?

You can pick up your event packet the day of the race (at the event) starting at 6:00 am, or the day before on Friday March 2, from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at Fairfield Inn and Suite, 7718 Front Beach Road, Panama City Beach, Florida 32407.

What happens after the race is complete?

We hope you will join us at 6:00 pm for The After Party event at The House of Bourbon, 1201 Beck Ave. Panama Cty, Florida 32401.

What are the age restrictions?

We are encouraging children 12 and up to take the full 5K course with a parent. For safety, 12 years is the youngest that can particiate in the 5K course. Children under 12 years should enjoy the kids' course and other activities. All children should be supervised by an adult.

Who created this event?

This event is the dream works of Lisa Kerns, Panama City Toyota and Talena Grawburg , SERVPRO of Bay County.

Where does the registration fee go?

All proceeds go to five worthy charities located in Bay County, Florida. All charities are 501c3 registered. Fun in the Sun Mud Run is also a 501c3 registered charity.

How is this event paid for?

This is a community event that is graciously paid for by Panama City Toyota, SERVPRO of Bay County, The Sleep Center, Mica Specialties, Builders FirstSource, and many other wonderful sponsors and partners. There are dozens of people behind the scene putting forth an amazing amount of time & energy to make this event the best for you and for our charities.

What is the shoe donation?

If you will, please plan to leave us the muddy shoes you particiate in. Our partners, Hilltop Cleaners, will expertly restore them and then donate them to Veterans, the homeless community and children’s groups in the North Florida area.This will allow someone else to walk in your shoes long after the event closes.

Our 'soul' purpose is to help as many people as possible. Plan to bring a change of shoes and donate your muddy soles to a soul in need. Our partnership with Hilltop Cleaners will provide the opportunity for many people in need to receive completely restored tennis shoes as we have developed relationships to donate to Veterans, the homeless community and children’s groups.
